MATQu

MATQu is driving the establishment of a stable, industry-scale European value chain for solid-state quantum computer fabrication.

Launched in June 2021, the project supports the creation of a pan-European research infrastructure dedicated to advanced quantum computing technologies. By uniting leading research organizations, industrial fabrication facilities, and application partners, MATQu focuses on solid-state qubits – particularly superconducting Josephson Junctions (SJJs) – which are critical for scalable quantum computers. The project aims to enhance substrate quality, materials, and fabrication reproducibility, ensuring superior qubit performance.

Over three years, MATQu will build a robust European ecosystem to advance materials, processing, and characterization technologies, accelerating the future of quantum computing hardware.
