In collaboration with the Fraunhofer Institute, a poster titled Toward Improved FOWLP Manufacturing Using a Self-Alignment Process was developed.
The self-alignment technique leverages the selective modification of substrate surface wetting properties through low-pressure fluorine plasma treatment: metal areas are rendered hydrophilic, while the surrounding polyimide regions become hydrophobic.
This contrast enables precise die placement, as dies are guided and fixed onto target areas by a controlled liquid interface.
